Day #1 on the lake was Friday... Hit the casino breakfast buffet (mmm bacon). Got kind of a late start and so there wasn't much beach left for all 40 of us... So we drove around forever and finally had to settle on a tiny spot with not much beach... Set up camp and it was suuuuper windy!
Got everyone settled, BBQ'd hotdogs and one of the kids busted his toe open so his family and a few other's jumped on their boat and headed back to the docks... Out of 9 paramedics that were there, all we could come up with was a box of band aids (hahaha). Apparently it was pretty bad and they had to remove his toenail (thank god they didn't have to remove his toe!).
Spent a few more hours out there but BFF's stepdaughter had stepped on something the day before and had an allergic reaction so the poor thing was in a Benedryl induced haze, couldn't walk AND had a fever!!!! Decided to pack it up and call it a day!
Ate dinner at Chilis and spent the rest of the evening in the hotel pool where there was almost a huuuge fight between a college or highschool sports team and a group of cowboys! Always exciting!
Day #2 The hubs and the BFF got an early start and scouted out a beach at 6:30 in the morning while the women and children slept in and ate breakfast!
Grabbed some groceries and coffee and we were on our way! Because the Hubs and the BFF had gone our sooo early that morning, they grabbed our favorite beach. That really can make or break your day!!!! Having a good beach is so important when you have little ones!
Spent the day with the BFF Family and with two other couples from BFF's fire dept. Such a perfect day!!! Beautiful weather (about 107 at the hottest part of the day), and clear skys.
Packed it up at the end of the day and headed to the hotel for showers and clean clothes so that we could hit AVI's stellar buffet with FLAMBE!!!! Flambe will probably be the death of me... Well flambe and bacon!!! Good thing I only really get those two things at the river!
Day #3 the boys pulled the boat out of the water early to wash it and take it down to my aunt and uncles river house in Needles. We all had a nice Father's Day breakfast at the AVI and then set off to Needles where we said goodbye to the BFF Family and spent the rest of the day with my aunt and uncle! We relaxed out front on the river in a giant floatie, ate Otterpops, saved a loose jetski that got loose from up river, watched my uncle play out front in his jet boat and visited with family!!!
It was a great 4 day mini vacation for us! Now I am off to finish all of the laundry!!!! Enjoy the photos!
