I handmade the tags for all 30 bags which was fun for us to do together. Boogs loves when I get out the Cricut because she wants me to make her all kinds of things (which end up crumpled and in the trash about 10 minutes later).
I just ordered the new Cricut Halloween cartridge and was excited to use it so Boogs and I looked through the book to see what would be simple enough to do (since we had to make 30). She wanted all kinds of fun haunted houses and skeletons but the tags were to small to do any of those so she had to settle for a plain black bat.
I cut out 30 tags and then 30 bats... We then made the tags look "vintage" by distressing the edges of them all and wrote Happy Halloween on the backs.
I found some cute & super cheap treat bags at Party City and filled them all with candy and skull and raven confetti (I am sure all of the parents will hate me when they have confetti all over their cars and homes). We then tied the tags on the bags with some cute sheer black ribbon.
I felt good when we showed up at school today and most of the parents had just brought bags of candy straight from the store. Our indivdual treat bags were much cuter and more personal (if I do say so myself).
Here are a few pictures of Boogs at school in her Silvermist (one of Tinkerbell's fairy friends) costume.
... and we have to include a pic of Beakey after we dropped Boogs off at school. He had just fallen on the asphalt and his knees were bleeding. So I told him that I was going to take his picture and just like that, the tears stopped and out came the "cheese face".
