If you don't know what Relay for Life is, I highly recommend you check one out... I guarantee a town near you has one. So go to www.relayforlife.org and look for one near you... It's life changing. I know that everyone knows at least one person in their life who has been affected by cancer. So why not be part of something that raises money for the American Cancer Society and educate yourself on an organization that helps not only raise money for research but also helps patients with transportation to appointments, helps patients with self image while going through treatments, helps patients families with knowing what the next step will be with their loved ones diagnosis when they don't understand the medical terms.
Relay is a great event that is family friendly. My kids have been a part of it for almost their whole life and look forward to it every year.
It's an extremely emotional 24 hours but worth every single tear!!!
~This year our family Relays for my recently diagnosed Grandfather Frank Shoda who is fighting throat cancer and never smoked a day in his life.
~This year our family Relays for my daughter's tball Coach Misha who is fighting breast cancer. She is an amazingly strong woman and mother of 9 children.
~This year our family Relays for one of my best friends in the world Leilani who is a 4 time cancer survivor. She is one tough
~This year our family Relays for another dear friend, Randi Kelley who is a Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor of almost 10 yrs. & who has a heart bigger than the universe. She would do anything for anyone. Our family loves her and we will always relay for her.
~This year our family Relays for my Grandmother Frances who lost the battle to ovarian cancer in 1986.
~This year our family Relays for my Uncle Fred who lost the battle to cancer in 1979.
~This year our family Relays for my husbands friend and co-worker Bob who lost the battle to cancer in 2009.
~This year our family Relays for our family friend Glenda Nabonne who lost the battle to pancreatic cancer.
~This year our family Relays for our boxers Tank and Havok who lost the battle to cancer in 2006 and 2007.
There are way too many people that we are Relaying for. Cancer is a horrible disease that does not discriminate. Please help us try to put an end to this awful monster. Join the ACS in some sort of volunteer work if possible, and please check out a Relay for Life event.
