Sunday... Rainy Sunday....

Well today has been a waste of a day... It's icky outside and we are stuck inside... Good thing we live in Southern California because I wouldn't last anywhere that had REAL rain.

We have done nothing but lounge around all day...

Well I did get started on my Easter mantle and a few Subway Art prints done for some friends, but other than that... NADA

Here are the kids getting some last minute jumps in before the rain comes...

even the cat was feeling lazy... oh wait, she's always like this!

we clearly have cabin fever!!! we've gone mad!

Starting to bust out the Easter stuff...

I think I need to make a banner and get some fake grass!

Love the subway art... This is not mine but a free download that I got from Eighteen25. If you haven't been to her blog... you need to NOW~ She's pretty much... THE BOMB!!! I want to be like her.... and the Pioneer Woman... oh and my friend Amy (Amy doesn't have a blog because she is too busy being wonder woman)!!!! A combo would be great!!!

Anyway... enjoy the very last bit of your weekend!!!

I'm gonna go and stomp around in rain puddles! Just kidding, I already have a cold, probably shouldn't try and catch pneumonia!

R-A-I-N

We are on day 4 of non stop rain? I have lost count... Living in Southern California this is not the norm for us. I have been whining and complaining about how my dogs and kids are sooo bored! And as much as we are feeling sorry for ourselves over here, I can't help but feel horrible because #1 we need the water! It's a fact, our aqueducts need the rainfall and I totally understand this, I just wish we'd have maybe a day in between each rain day so that we could get out and get rid of this cabin fever!

Then I was lying in bed last night really feeling like a jerk for feeling sorry for myself about this stupid cold.... I have a roof... I have shelter, a warm bed, a family, a pantry full of food, and there are people, and stray animals out there with nothing... in this weather. There are elderly, sick, children, babies, and animals, that have been victims of this economy and other reasons... Regardless of their situation... it sucks that there are less fortunate out there in this weather....

I try to do little things here and there like donate all of the clothes that I have gotten to fat to wear on a regular  basis to Goodwill, I go through my kids toys on a monthly basis and donate those as well, any time we see a canned food drive we take part, if I see someone asking for money I give... (who am I to judge what they will spend it on... I'll probably just waste it on something stupid like overpriced coffee), I made sure to talk to my kids about Toys for Tots this year so that they understood how lucky they really are and how important it is to understand the love of giving to others.... I work in non-profit animal care but I still feel like there is so much more that I can be doing...

So not that this is going to help anyone, but I am going to officially stop complaining about how the weather is inconveniencing me! Because I know that I don't have it nearly half as bad as a lot of people do. I have a lot to be thankful for and I need to remember that!!!!!

Between Storms

So we aren't used to having more than like 5 minutes of rain a year here in Southern California but the last few days we have had storms. Not storms like mid-west storms but we had a little lightning and thunder and way to much rain for my kids and dogs to handle! By day three we are going a little stir crazy! So since we have a break between the second part of the rain that is coming in this evening the kids, dogs and I decided to make good use of it and play as much as we could. Enjoy the pics!

"It's so bright, I gotta wear shades"

"What is this flappy thingy?"

"I don't think I like it"

"Nope, I don't like it, I think I'll hide"

"Nevermind, I forgot I was scared"

Yes, he is cradling her and singing to her!

"Hunter, just stand still so I can hug you for a minute!"

"Thank you!"
