Boxer Babies

So a few days ago a plea went out that a box of boxer pups had been dumped in a alley in Lancaster.

Frantically we tried to find a transporter that was able to go at the drop of a hat to go pick up these pups as the guy holding them had said that he was a "cat guy" and would only hold them for an hour. The shelter apparently has parvo going around and the pups would def not last long there.

Just as our CFO was about to hop in her car to go, one of our dear friends and dedicated volunteers from Boxer Rescue Los Angeles called and said that she was already in her car and just needed directions.

Thank God for her (and her amazing hubs Todd) and our friend Kristen because once we had the transport problem solved, we had the whole issue of.... where the heck are we going to keep these babies? They are most likely not vaccinated, they could have God knows what kind of illnesses, and we cannot put them in our kennel with healthy dogs. So once again, our wonder volunteer Candi said that she'd take them home until we could get them vaccinated, vet checked and healthy enough for adoption.

These are the photos that she has sent us of these amazing pure bred boxer babies!!!! (Why someone would dump these gorgeous helpless cuties in an alley to fend for themselves is just beyond me, but in the 4 years of working in rescue, I still get amazed).

I am happy to announce that the 2 males (Rufus & Jackson) and 1 female (Delilah) are doing amazing! Candi's & Todd's male boxer Chunky is being such a great babysitter and teaching them how to be a great canine citizen. He adores them and is great with them.

LA Calendar Motorcyle Show- So Fun!!!

So the LA Calender Motorcycle Show was so much fun!!!! I was a little worried about the whole "Carmageddon" thing  (just like everyone else) but I had noooo traffic my whole way to the LBC! Yay for that!

First, I'd like to thank Pyrate Ryderz MC for co-hosting the event and having us!

Second, I'd like to thank our Tazzy Fund board member and Sons of Anarchy star Kristen Renton for coming out to sign autographs all day and have her picture taken with tons of biker dudes (and chicks).

Third, I'd like to thank the belle of the ball!!!! Chopper the biker dog and his bff Mark for coming all the way down from San Diego to help raise money for our charity!

LA Calendar Motorcyle Show- This Weekend

If you don't have anything to do this weekend.... and you will be near the Long Beach area.... You should come out and visit me! My friend Tiffy Poo (from over at Happy Rock) and I will be working the LA Calendar Motorcyle Show this Saturday! We will be hanging out with our awesome friends at Dark Alley Customs, some of the Son's of Anarchy crew and even Chopper the Biker Dog all to raise money for Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund!!!! How cool is that?!?!?!?!  Come say "hello"!!!! I  promise, we are friendly!!!!!

Tazzy Fund is a 501c3 charity that was started February 16, 2005 by Leilani and Rick Laca, Tazzy's humans, to honor his memory. Taz, their beloved boxer, fell victim to the ravages of cancer. The grief was very difficult to deal with but they found that volunteering at animal rescues helped them cope. Helping other animals was not only rewarding, it also seemed a fitting way to honor the life of the animal that had given them so much joy. It only took a few short months to make a decision to start a fund to help save animals.

The mission of Tazzy Fund is to raise money to support the animal rescue community with medical bills, transportation, fund and facilitate animal education in the school system, bring awareness to spay and neuter programs and send volunteer teams out in the field where needed most. They fund horse, dog, cat, bird, rescue efforts.
