My Little Piece of Heaven

We usually have been to the river at least twice before June... Not this year... and I am dying!

I don't have a hard life... In fact, I am very lucky... but these past few months have been mentally exhausting for me and I am ready for a vacation!

Some people like fancy resorts, tropical islands, and far away destinations. I am not saying that I wouldn't love those either but the definition of a family vacation to me is the Colorado River.

Since I can remember we have spent time at either the Colorado River, Lake Mead or Lake Mohave. My older brother and dad had a jet boat, my Uncle Gary had a jet boat and for the past 7 or 8 years Paulie and I have had a wake boarding boat.

To me heaven is floating on a raft tied to the boat while soaking up the rays with my sunscreen, sunglasses and big floppy hat (wow things have changed... I used to lather my self in oil and bake out there) listening to my kids splash and play in the cove.

Last year things got even better when my best friend in the world bought a boat for his family. Our daughters are only 4 days apart and have spent many vacations together... It's such a relaxing, and great family trip!

It's so fun to see the kids grow up enjoying the river as much as I did as a kid!!!! Counting down the days til' we leave on Thurs for the first trip of 2010!!!!
