Roller Derby!!!! It's calling me! I seriously think I was born to be a Derby Diva!!! It all fits me... The funky clothes with striped knee socks and tutus, knocking people in the face without getting in trouble, the tattoos....
I think that I could be really good at this! I have always thought it would be fun but then I was inspired... the other night I watched Drew Barrymore's first directorial debut... Whip It!
This is what has been missing in my life! Roller Derby!!!!
I am pretty sure this is the coolest sport ever! When I told my mom, she said, "Can you find something where you use your brain"? Um yes Mom, my brain will be telling me to raise my elbows to block the other team!
The closest team to me is about 45 minutes away but they are holding try outs... Do I dare?
Guess I should learn how to skate... *sigh*

We love roller derby for chicks! Its awesome!!! Here is Texas its a big event!
ReplyDeleteThere was a great documentary years ago on tv about roller derby - hellonwheels or something like that! Keep us posted!
AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to do this for a long time, but I've been WAY TOO SCARED to try out. I'm a really good skater (at least on rollerblades) but not very mean, so I may need to work on that.
Mom and me thinks you should go fur it! :)
ReplyDeleteWoofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae
Do it!!!! You'd be awesome & I will totally drive wherever to cheer you on :)

Don't let the whole- can't skate thing stop you! Before kids (and errr 50 pounds or so) I joined a women's ice hockey team called Chix with Sticks at a local ice arena. I had NO idea how to skate- but heck -with a lot of padding it wasn't so hard. It was one of the best times in my life (I played for about 5 years!). Once my husband (one of the refs) had to hold me down on the ice with his knee to prevent me from going after another girl who had knocked me down during a game. ha ha that was a sight. No much effort on his part-but boy was I fighting mad!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun (minus the bloody nose)! Can't wait to see future posts when you finally start!
ReplyDeleteDO IT!!! I have have the same thoughts....but I fear I am much to scared of getting hurt. I would totally cheer you on though!!!!
ReplyDeleteGO FOR IT! Trying stuff in life is what makes it fun! If you want to do - then do it! I bet you will have a blast!
ReplyDeleteI love that movie!
ReplyDeleteDaisy and I think you should try out.
As long as you have your helmet, and your
knee and elbow pads handy, it could be fun!
We hope you are having a great week!
