Then I was lying in bed last night really feeling like a jerk for feeling sorry for myself about this stupid cold.... I have a roof... I have shelter, a warm bed, a family, a pantry full of food, and there are people, and stray animals out there with nothing... in this weather. There are elderly, sick, children, babies, and animals, that have been victims of this economy and other reasons... Regardless of their situation... it sucks that there are less fortunate out there in this weather....
I try to do little things here and there like donate all of the clothes that I have gotten to fat to wear on a regular basis to Goodwill, I go through my kids toys on a monthly basis and donate those as well, any time we see a canned food drive we take part, if I see someone asking for money I give... (who am I to judge what they will spend it on... I'll probably just waste it on something stupid like overpriced coffee), I made sure to talk to my kids about Toys for Tots this year so that they understood how lucky they really are and how important it is to understand the love of giving to others.... I work in non-profit animal care but I still feel like there is so much more that I can be doing...
So not that this is going to help anyone, but I am going to officially stop complaining about how the weather is inconveniencing me! Because I know that I don't have it nearly half as bad as a lot of people do. I have a lot to be thankful for and I need to remember that!!!!!

Well said Mama Monster! We can all be a lot more inconvenienced than by a little weather. I often find myself complaining about little things - like working 2 jobs and never seeing my daughters (one kid one dog). But THANK GOODNESS I have those 2 jobs or where would I be?

We actually don't mind you complaining (we do it all the time), but you have a very valid point.

That is what it is like here, pretty much all the time!! You get used to it. You just need better-waterproof shoes!
